ABC Beats a World Series-Boosted Fox for #2 in November

Please Note: Based on complete ratings for the November Sweep issued by Nielsen this afternoon (28 nights of Most Current data - including available DVR playback), ABC moved ahead of Fox to rank a sole #2 in Adults 18-49 and finish in a virtual-tie with CBS for #1.

ABC finished a strong #2 in November 2010 among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. In fact in Adults 18-49, ABC beat out a World Series-boosted Fox and ran in a virtual-tie with CBS for #1 (pacing within 1-tenth of a rating point and tied in audience share). The Net won the November Sweep for the 5th straight year across all key Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). Excluding sports to level the playing field for the boosts that the other nets gained from professional sports coverage (NFL games and overruns/World Series), ABC was a definitive #1 for the month in Adults 18-49, outdelivering #2 CBS by 7%, #3 Fox by 32% and #4 NBC by 61%.

· Highest-Rated TV Series: ABC claimed 5 of the Top 10 TV series during November 2010 in Adults 18-49, more than any other net, including the #1 scripted program (Modern Family), the #1 drama (Grey's Anatomy) and the #1 unscripted series (DWTS): Modern Family - #2, Grey's Anatomy - #4, Desperate Housewives - #7, DWTS - #9 and DWTS: The Results - #10. ABC's DWTS qualified as the most-watched TV show overall for the month, while The Results ranked #3. In addition, ABC delivered 6 of the Top 7 TV series of the sweep with Women 18-49.

· Growing Wednesday Night Comedy Block: During November, ABC's Wednesday 8-10pm comedy block was up by wide margins across the board over last year: Total Viewers +30%, AD18-34 +29%, AD18-49 +32%, Teens 12-17 +36% and Kids 2-11 +38%.

· Biggest Individual Telecasts: The Network aired 5 of the Top 6 highest-rated entertainment telecasts for November in Adults 18-49. Additionally, with the 11th-season finales of DWTS: The Results and DWTS, respectively, ABC claimed TV's Top 2 most-watched telecasts overall during the November Sweep (any net/any night).

· Year to Year ABC Series Gainers in November: In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, a number of ABC's returning series experienced year-to-year growth in November: DWTS (+14%/+14%), Castle (+6%/+4%), DWTS: The Results Show (+14%/+8%), The Middle (+47%/+40%), Modern Family (+46%/+50%) and Cougar Town (+7%/+15%).
