ABC Claims the Week's Top Series in DVR Playback - "Modern Family" Matches Record-Gains

DVR Playback for the week of 1/17/11 (Week #18):

ABC's "Modern Family" topped the chart as the #1 actual DVR Adult 18-49 gainer from the first-reported numbers to the playback finals, matching its record-setting 1.7 rating point jump over its initial number (+37% - 4.6 rating to a 6.3 rating). "Modern Family's" 1.7 rating point build for the week equaled the highest for any TV series this season.

· As a result of DVR playback, ABC's "Modern Family" emerged as TV's #1 scripted show for the week in Adults 18-49 (6.3), inching past a special Sunday episode of CBS' "Hawaii Five-0" (6.2) to top Nielsen's final rankings. Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, the AFC Championship game-fueled "Hawaii Five-0" was the top-rated scripted show for the week by a full rating point.

Season-to-Date DVR Playback (9/20/10-1/23/11):

This season, ABC airs TV's Top 2 biggest actual Adult 18-49 gainers, with "Modern Family" and "Grey's Anatomy." On average, "Modern Family" picks up 1.5 rating points from the originally-reported numbers to the finalized DVR playback numbers, and "Grey's Anatomy" gains an additional 1.4 rating points over its initial number.

· ABC's "Modern Family" and "Grey's Anatomy" are also TV's Top 2 highest-rated scripted series overall for the season in the key young adult sales demo.
