A&E's "Breakout Kings" Breaks Out With Record Audiences

A&E'S "BREAKOUT KINGS" BREAKS OUT WITH RECORD AUDIENCES

SERIES LAUNCH BECOMES THE MOST-WATCHED ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES PREMIERE AMONG ADULTS 25-54 AND 18-49

NEW YORK - March 7, 2011 - The Sunday, March 6th series premiere of the new A&E series "Breakout Kings" delivered record performances for an original drama series for the network, delivering 1.6 million adults 25-54 and 1.5 million adults 18-49. The premiere episode also delivered a strong 2.8 million total viewers.

"'Breakout Kings' is a smart, action-packed drama with great storytelling and authentic well-drawn characters," said Bob DeBitetto, President & General Manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel. "Clearly the series has struck a chord with the younger viewers which we have welcomed to the network through our stable of unscripted programming. We're off to a great start."

The "Breakout Kings" opener was up 25% in adults 18-49 and 14% in adults 25-54 from the previous network record holder, "The Glades," which delivered 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 1.4 million adults 25-54 in its July 2010 premiere. "The Glades" will return for a second season this summer.

New episodes of "Breakout Kings" premiere every Sunday at 10:00pm ET/PT.

"Breakout Kings" is a production of Fox 21. The series is created, written and executive-produced by Matt Olmstead ("Prison Break") and Nick Santora ("Prison Break"). Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) also serve as executive producers.
