HGTV Sees Audience Growth with New Series
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. [For Immediate Release - July 7, 2011] Fueled by interest in three new series, HGTV's P25-54 audience was up 20 percent in primetime on Monday nights (8P-12A) over Mondays in June 2010. The new series, which premiered June 6, 2011, include My Yard Goes Disney, House Hunters on Vacation and HGTV'd. In addition, Room Crashers, which airs Saturdays at 1 p.m., gained 67 percent over the same time period in June 2010 -- making it the highest rated series among M25-54 for the month of June. The network delivered its highest average total day audience in June among HH's (566,000) and key demos, including P25-54 (297,000) and P18-49 (250,000). Overall, HGTV also delivered its highest average total day audience in second quarter among HH's (553,000) and key demos, including P18-49 (236,000) and P25-54 (279,000).
To maintain the momentum with audiences, the network will preview five new series during the sixth season of its top-rated reality competition, HGTV Design Star. From Monday, July 11 through August 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, HGTV Design Star will serve as a springboard for the sneak peek episodes of Selling LA, The High Low Project and Donna Decorates Dallas. Other series include Dina's Party, featuring event planner, and former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member, Dina Manzo and a revamped Design on a Dime with former HGTV Design Star finalist Casey Noble. In addition, new episodes of three existing series, Room Crashers, Home By Novogratz and HGTV'd, will get a special showcase during the HGTV Design Star airings.
