UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 14, 2011 - NBC's late-night lineup has finished #1 for the week of July 4-8 ahead of all cable and broadcast competition, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" generated its biggest overall audience in 15 months and encore telecasts of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" delivered bigger audiences than originals of CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" in all key ratings categories. Note that Monday telecasts are excluded from last week's averages due to the July 4 holiday.

At 11:35 p.m. ET, "Tonight" out-delivered all cable and broadcast competition in the time period in 18-49 viewers, total viewers and other key ratings categories. At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night" encores also attracted a bigger adult 18-49 audience than all cable and broadcast competition in the time slot.

Jay logged his biggest total viewership (4.298 million) since the week of March 22-26, 2010. "Tonight" has generated gains versus the same week last year in total viewers for the last five consecutive weeks (excluding the week of Wimbledon delays).

Despite airing rebroadcasts last week, Jimmy Fallon out-delivered "Late Late Show" originals in all key ratings categories: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Jimmy also tied CBS's Letterman encores in 18-49 rating (0.6 each), though "Late Night" starts an hour later than "Late Show." Jimmy has been up versus the same week last year in total viewers for the last 10 weeks in a row (excluding Wimbledon week).

So far during the 2010-11 television season versus the first 42 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is up by 14 percent in total viewers (3.896 million vs. 3.411 million), while CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" is down 9 percent (3.476 million vs. 3.805 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is also up 14 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.781 million vs. 1.566 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 7 percent (1.708 million vs. 1.839 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is up so far this season versus one year ago by 6 percent in 18-49 viewers (495,000 vs. 469,000) and up 14 percent in total viewers (989,000 vs. 867,000).

Jay Leno has ranked #1 for 39 of 41 weeks this season versus "Late Show" in viewers 18-49 and total viewers (excluding the week of Wimbledon delays). Jimmy Fallon has ranked #1 versus "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 for 41 of 41 weeks this season (excluding Wimbledon week). In total viewers, Jimmy has out-delivered "Late Late Show" for the last eight weeks in a row.
