"JERSEY SHORE" CONTINUES ITS DOMINATION As the SHOW Delivers one of MTV's best ratings ever

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 26, 2011) - MTV continues its winning streak, as "Jersey Shore" once again delivers one of MTV's best series telecast ratings ever. Last night's episode averaged a 8.1 P12-34 rating and 6.4 million P12-34 viewers, up 11% from last week. In addition, it delivered 8.47 million total viewers, and ranked #7 among all MTV series telecasts. MTV is a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B).

An all-new episode of "Jersey Shore" will air on a special night and time, this Sunday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT, leading into the "2011 Video Music Awards" on MTV. The episode will mark a pivotal moment for Italy's most notorious American imports, as tensions between Mike and Ronnie come to a shocking head and threaten to disrupt the balance of the house. Viewers will finally gain clarity on what led up to Mike's highly speculated-about hospitalization during season four filming - and fans will be shocked by the truth.

This explosive episode will air again as a special encore presentation on the show's regular night and time, Thursday, September 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Also returning that night is the fan-favorite series after show, "Jersey Shore: After Hours," at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Amy Paffrath, the special is the first of three all-new, half-hour shows that will gather the cast to discuss season four in all its dramatic and hilarious glory - with a few face-offs, reveals and never-before-seen clips along the way.

"Jersey Shore" is executive produced by SallyAnn Salsano from 495 Productions. Jacquelyn French is executive producer for MTV. Janay Dutton is executive in charge of production for MTV. Concept created by Anthony Beltempo.
