JAY'S 29 PERCENT MARGIN OVER 'LATE SHOW' IN 18-49 VIEWERS IS BIGGER THAN HIS LEADS FOR EACH OF THE PRIOR THREE QUARTERS; THE TOTAL-VIEWER ADVANTAGE, 32 PERCENT, IS 'TONIGHT'S' BIGGEST IN NINE QUARTERS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - September 22, 2011 - NBC's late-night lineup has won the week of September 12-16 to wrap up a victorious third quarter in which "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" ranked #1 ahead of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in every key ratings category.

"Tonight" also delivered a bigger margin of victory in 18-49 over "Late Show " than "Tonight" scored in the prior three quarters (the first and second quarters of 2011 and the fourth quarter of 2010). In total viewers, "Tonight's" margin over "Late Show" was its biggest over the last nine quarters (since the second quarter of 2009).

In third-quarter results at 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" also out-rated CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and ABC's "Kimmel" in every key ratings category -- adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

Jimmy Fallon achieved a bigger advantage in 18-49 over CBS's "Late Late Show" than he generated in the prior three quarters (since the third quarter of 2010) and a bigger margin over "Late Late Show" in total viewers than "Late Night" delivered in the prior 12 quarters (since the third quarter of 2008).

Through the quarter, Jay ranked #1 every week versus "Late Show" in adult 18-49 viewers and total viewers (excluding the week of Wimbledon delays), and at 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon also finished #1 every week versus "Late Late Show" in 18-49 viewers and total viewers (excluding Wimbledon week).

In adults 18-49 for the third quarter, Jay's audience was 29 percent bigger than "Late Show's" (1.157 million vs. 894,000) and in total viewers, Jay won by 32 percent (3.711 million vs. 2.813). In adults 18-49, Jimmy Fallon's third-quarter audience was 33 percent bigger than "Late Late Show's" (748,000 vs. 561,000) and in total viewers, the "Late Night" advantage was 24 percent (1.707 million vs. 1.375 million).

For the completed 2010-11 television year versus the 2009-10 year, "Tonight" is up by 10 percent in total viewers (3.848 million vs. 3.497 million), while "Late Show" is down 8 percent (3.340 million vs. 3.631 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 12 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.765 million vs. 1.582 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 7 percent (1.646 million vs. 1.763 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" completed the broadcast year up versus the prior year by 2 percent in 18-49 viewers (480,000 vs. 471,000) and up 10 percent in total viewers (973,000 vs. 884,000).

Jay Leno has ranked #1 for 49 of 51 weeks this season versus "Late Show" in viewers 18-49 and total viewers (excluding the week of Wimbledon delays). Jimmy Fallon has ranked #1 versus "Late Late Show" in viewers 18-49 for 51 of 51 weeks this season (excluding Wimbledon week). In total viewers, Jimmy has out-delivered "Late Late Show" for the last 18 weeks in a row.
