ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Draws its Biggest Audience in Nearly 5 Months

Some early points on Jimmy Kimmel Live's weekly numbers, ahead of the regular press release:

During the week of April 2, 2012, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live was up over the prior week in both Total Viewers (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%) to attract its biggest audience since November - since the week of 11/21/11. In addition, JKL grew its overall audience by 5% over the same week last year.

· During the week, ABC's JKL stood as the #3 late-night talk show in Total Viewers, behind only NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman.

· ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live (M-F 12am) outdrew NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (M-F 12:35am) by double-digit margins for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (+14%), while also scoring its 2nd straight win over the NBC late-night program in Adults 18-49 (+8%). JKL topped Fallon in both viewers and young adults on 4 of 5 days of the week. In fact, for the 2nd consecutive week, a repeat telecast of JKL on Friday outperformed an original telecast of Fallon in both Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%).

· ABC's JKL beat CBS' The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (M-F 12:35am) by impressive double-digits in both Total Viewers (+32%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%), marking the 22nd time in the 29 weeks of the season for the ABC late-night program to beat the CBS program in both Nielsen measures. In fact, JKL has drawn a larger overall audience than Ferguson in 28 of the 29 weeks this season.

· Season to date (29 weeks), JKL is building its overall audience over the comparable weeks last year by 3% in Total Viewers, growing the most year to year of any late-night broadcast talk show.

"Nightline" has ranked No. 1 in all 3 measures for the 5th time in the last 6 weeks.

ABC also grew over the year-ago week (week of 4/4/11) by 4% in Total Viewers (2.398 million vs. 2.314 million) to stand as the only broadcaster in late-night to build its overall audience (CBS was down -1%; NBC was down -1%).

· For the 2nd consecutive week and the 4th time in the last 5 weeks, ABC qualified as the most-watched network in late-night in Total Viewers (2.398 million), topping CBS by 8% (2.229 million) and NBC by 6% (2.255 million).

· ABC topped NBC for the 4th week in a row in Adults 18-49, beating NBC during the week by 8% (778,000 vs. 721,000).
