HISTORY(R) MAKES HISTORY IN 2nd Quarter 2012

Network Posts Double Digit Increases in All Key Demos and Finishes Best Quarter of All Time

Over 62 million viewers tune into HISTORY's First Scripted Miniseries, Hatfields & McCoys

Year to date, the Network is Ranking #1 with Adults 25-54

NEW YORK, June 26, 2012 - Continuing its phenomenal ratings success - HISTORY secured its best quarter ever, in all key demos, in 2nd Quarter 2012. Bolstered by the success of the network's investment in original programming as well as scripted event programming - HISTORY experienced double digit growth in all key demos, posting a 14% increase in total viewers vs. 2nd Quarter 2011.

For the first time ever, HISTORY is #1 in its target demo of Adults 25-54 at the mid-point of the year.

In June, for the first time ever, HISTORY ranked as the #1 network among total viewers and Adults 25-54 vs. all of cable for the month. June was also HISTORY's best month ever among its key demos. The network was up 49% in total viewers, 37% in Adults 25-54 and 27% in Adults 18-49 in June 2012 vs. June 2011.

Over 62 million tuned in to HISTORY's first scripted miniseries, Hatfields & McCoys, which shattered records across the television landscape. The mini-series averaged 13.8 million total viewers, 6.0 million Adults 25-54 and 4.9 million Adults 18-49 over the 3 night premiere (May 28-30). All three parts of Hatfields & McCoys now rank as the Top 3 entertainment telecasts of all time in ad supported cable history among total viewers.

On the strength of Hatfields & McCoys, HISTORY is the first and only cable network to win the week among total viewers in primetime over all the broadcast networks (6.0 million impressions).

In 2nd Quarter, HISTORY had an incredible seven series average over 1 million Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 and five series average over 1.5 million. HISTORY had more hit shows than any other network in cable. Year to date, Pawn Stars remains the #1 non-fiction series on cable among Adults 25-54.

HISTORY(R) is the leading destination for factual entertainment, including award-winning original series and specials that connect viewers with history in an informative, immersive and entertaining manner across multiple platforms. The network's all-original programming slate, including scripted event programming, features a litany of hits including American Pickers(R), American Restoration(TM), Ax Men(TM), Ice Road Truckers(R), Pawn Stars(R), Swamp People(R) and Top Shot(R) as well as epic mini-series and specials such as the Emmy(R) Award-winning Gettysburg, America The Story of Us, Hatfields & McCoys, Vietnam in HD and 102 Minutes That Changed America.
