SEASON TO DATE, JAY HAS STRETCHED HIS TOTAL-VIEWER LEAD OVER 'LATE SHOW' TO 18 PERCENT FROM THE YEAR-AGO 11 PERCENT; JIMMY FALLON HAS ALSO INCREASED HIS MARGIN OVER 'LATE LATE SHOW' TO 18 PERCENT, UP FROM LAST YEAR'S 4 PERCENT

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 6, 2012 - NBC's late-night stars have out-delivered the ABC and CBS time-period competition in all key ratings categories for the week of June 25-29, with "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" hitting an 18-week high in viewers 18-49 and a 15-week high in total viewers.

The Wednesday, June 27 edition of "Tonight," featuring musical guest Justin Bieber and guests Mila Kunis and Jim Norton, generated the show's biggest 18-49 audience since Friday, Feb. 10 (with Rachel McAdams and Cee Lo Green, musical guest Cee Lo Green featuring Vicci Martinez) and biggest overall viewership since Monday, Feb. 6 (with Dwayne Johnson and Miranda Cosgrove, musical guest Ovo from Cirque Du Soleil).

For the week, "Tonight" generated its biggest 18-49 audience (1.082 million) since the week of February 20-24 and its biggest overall audience (3.701 million) since March 12-16. Jimmy Fallon hit a five-week high in total viewers (1.665 million, highest since May 21-25).

"Tonight" delivered bigger audiences than the time-period competition of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in every key ratings category: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. And Jimmy Fallon likewise out-delivered CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Kimmel" head to head for their common half-hour in each of those categories. Note that "Late Show" and "Kimmel" were in rebroadcast Friday night.

Through the first 41 weeks of the 2011-12 broadcast year, "Tonight" has increased its total-viewer margin over "Late Show" to 18 percent (3.685 million vs. 3.135 million), up from the year-ago season-to-date advantage of 11 percent. Jimmy Fallon has also established a total-viewer lead over "Late Late Show" this season of 18 percent (1.758 million vs. 1.494 million), up from last year's advantage of 4 percent. Jimmy has also increased his season-to-date lead over "Late Late Show" in adults 18-34, to 43 percent (274,000 vs. 191,000) up from last year's 28 percent, and in adults 25-54, up to 13 percent (852,000 vs. 754,000) from 6 percent at this point last season.

"Tonight" delivered a bigger 18-49 audience than "Late Show" for the 24th time in 28 weeks while Jimmy Fallon attracted a bigger 18-49 audience than "Late Late Show" for a 31st week in a row.
