"48 Hours: Friends for Life" Was Saturday's #1 Show with Viewers and Households
CBS further spins the numbers for the week of October 1-7.

"48 HOURS: FRIENDS FOR LIFE" WAS SATURDAY'S #1 SHOW WITH VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS

"48 Hours" Was Up +9% In Households, +8% In Viewers And Adults 25-54, And Up +11% In Adults 18-49 Compared To Previous Week

CBS News' 48 HOURS: "Friends for Life" (10:00-11:00 PM) was the #1 program Saturday in households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. 48 HOURS posted a 3.7/07 in households and 5.24m viewers.

Compared to last week's season premiere, 48 HOURS was up +9% in households (from 3.4/06), +8% in adults 25-54 (1.4/08 from 1.3/04), +11% in adults 18-49 (1.0/03 from 0.9/03) and added +400,000 viewers (from 4.84m, +8%). 48 HOURS was Saturday's #1 program in households and viewers for the second straight Saturday.

Saturday's broadcast featured Erin Moriarty's report "Friends for Life," which focused on the 2009 murder of Brian Davis, an unfaithful husband shot dead on a dirt road in Lake Charles, La. The police investigation led to the arrests and convictions of his wife Robyn and her best friend Carol (Sissy) Saltzman for killing him. The case hinged on cell phone signals that police believed put the women near the murder scene.

48 HOURS: "Friends for Life" was produced by Alec Sirken and Taigi Smith. David Franklin was the producer/editor. Grayce Arlotta-Berner was the editor. Anthony Batson is the senior producer. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.

"Friends for Life" is part of 48 HOURS' 25th full season. It's the third-longest running primetime series and has been the #1 non-sports program on Saturday nights for six consecutive seasons.
