Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, FOX and NBC All Split Demo Crown

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

NBC (4.989 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) was one of three networks to split the demo crown on Friday with repeats of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (4.205 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7), another "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (3.741 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (5.498 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5).

ABC (4.678 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) likewise shared the gold with encores of "Last Man Standing" (4.830 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11), "Malibu Country" (4.169 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #12) and "Shark Tank" (5.034 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1) plus a new "20/20" (4.502 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1).

Next up was FOX (3.495 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) with the return of "Kitchen Nightmares" (3.776 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) and a rebroadcast of "The Following" (3.214 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6) premiere.

Meanwhile, CBS (7.439 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) then offered up its all-repeat lineup of "Undercover Boss" (7.083 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1), "CSI: NY" (7.433 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "Blue Bloods" (7.802 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

And finally, a new "Nikita" (1.594 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) and a repeat of "The Carries Diaries" (0.817 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14) closed out the night over on The CW (1.205 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Nikita" delivered a 0.5 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Carrie" a 0.5 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/5 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.4/6.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/4.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.7/5 in metered-market households and a 0.7/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households with an encore telecast) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (1/27/12):

ABC (5.45 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) took home top demo honors with week two of "Shark Tank" (5.45 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2), "Primetime: What Would You Do?" (5.19 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) and "20/20" (5.73 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3).

FOX (3.41 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then claimed the silver with fresh installments of "Kitchen Nightmares" (3.44 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) and "Fringe" (3.37 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

Next up was NBC (4.31 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with a new "Chuck" (4.12 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) followed by the series finale of "Chuck" (4.32 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5) and a new "Dateline NBC" (4.50 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9). The latter numbers for "Chuck" marked season highs in 18-49 and total viewers

Meanwhile, CBS (7.50 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) served up repeats of "A Gifted Man" (6.67 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11), "CSI: NY" (7.69 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9) and "Blue Bloods" (8.13 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T5).

And finally, repeats of "Nikita" (1.19 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) and "Supernatural" (1.09 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12) on The CW (1.14 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.
