"48 HOURS: CRAZY LOVE" WAS SATURDAY'S #1 SHOW IN HOUSEHOLDS AND VIEWERS

48 HOURS: "Crazy Love" was Saturday's #1 prime program in households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, Jan. 26. In the 10:00-11:00 PM time period, 48 HOURS was first in households (3.7/06), viewers (5.28m), adults 25-54 (1.5/04) and adults 18-49 (1.0/03).

"Crazy Love" featured Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS team's report on the brutal murder of Fontainebleau Hotel heir Benji Novack, who was found dead July 12, 2009 at a hotel in Rye Brook, N.J. Novack was a self-made multi-millionaire who friends said ruled his conference planning empire by fear. He was known as a collector of Batman memorabilia, and friends said he had a penchant for kinky sex and routinely cheated on his wife, Narcy Novack.

All of that added up to plenty of potential suspects for investigators piecing together the gruesome murder. The investigation would also lead to Miami where a reporter began to question the death of Benji Novack's mother, Bernice, occurring just three months before Benji was killed. Her death was ruled an accident - but was it?

48 HOURS: "Crazy Love" tracked the investigation and the revelation of who killed Benji Novack. "Crazy Love" is produced by Chuck Stevenson and Dena Goldstein. Alan Miller, Bobby Orozovich and Bruce Spiegel are the editors. Anthony Batson is the senior broadcast producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.

Earlier in the evening, a special encore broadcast of 48 HOURS: LIVE TO TELL - "An Officer and A Hero" (9:00-10:00 PM) was first in households (3.4/06) and viewers (4.84m). Compared to the same night last year (CRIMETIME SATURDAY, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION(R)), CBS was up +3% in households.
