TBS Ranks as Basic Cable's #1 Network in Primetime Delivery of Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 for the Second Consecutive Month

TBS

For the second consecutive month, TBS won the ratings race with young adults, ranking as basic cable's #1 network in primetime delivery of adults 18-34 and adults 18-49. TBS also won those demos for the final week of February.

The TBS original comedy Cougar Town took in 2.6 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery with last Tuesday's episode, with 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 732,000 adults 18-34. Meanwhile, the show's Feb. 5 episode has grown to a final tally of 2.9 million viewers in Live + 7, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 and 896,000 adults 18-34.

TBS's hit competition series King of the Nerds drew 1.3 million viewers and 932,000 adults 18-49 in Live + 3 for its sixth episode. Its delivery of adults 18-34 (564,000) grew by +13% over the prior week's episode. The latest installment of King of the Nerds also scored the show's youngest median age so far this season: 32.

Telecasts of The Big Bang Theory averaged a hefty 3 million viewers in February, making it basic cable's #1 off-net series. It was also tops for the month in delivery of adults 18-49 (1.6 million) and adults 18-34 (767,000).

TBS's late-night series CONAN scored growth for the third week in a row, averaging 857,000 total viewers in Live + Same Day (+4% over the prior week) and 556,000 adults 18-49 (+5%). CONAN also drew 320,000 adults 18-34 (+14%).

Adult Swim

Adult Swim's Total Day performance in February 2013 ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34, & 18-49 on basic cable. Compared to February 2012, Total day delivery grew with adults 18-24 by 3%, adults 18-34 by 7%, adults 18-49 by 8%, men 18-24 by 7%, men 18-34 by 11% and men 18-49 by 10%.

Adult Swim ranked #2 in Prime Time on basic cable for delivery of adults 18-34. Compared to February 2012, Prime delivery increased with adults 18-24 by 8%, adults 18-34 by 14%, adults 18-49 by 13%, men 18-24 by 10%, men 18-34 by 13% and men 18-49 by 7%.

New episodes of Robot Chicken (Sunday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period throughout February, with all adults 18-24, 18-34 and 18-49 and men 18-34, growing by double and triple digits across the board vs. the same time period last year.

Adult Swim's newest original series, Newsreaders (Thursday, 12 a.m.) grew among adults 18-34/18-49 and men 18-34/18-49 vs. last year's time period.

Across February 2013, Adult Swim programming accounted for 18 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week with adults 18-34 and men 18-34, both more than any other network.

TNT

TNT scored solid growth in total day for February while also ranking as basic cable's #1 network in total day delivery of adults 25-54. For the month, TNT's deliveries increased by +5% among total viewers compared to February 2012, +4% among adults 25-54 and +5% among adults 18-49.

The Feb. 18 episode of TNT's hit drama Dallas drew 3.2 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, up 3% compared to the prior week's episode. In the demos, Dallas drew more than 1.3 million adults 25-54 and 1.1 million adults 18-49.

Wednesday night's episode of the TNT original drama series Southland garnered 1.8 viewers in Live + 3, a +2% increase compared to the prior week's episode. In the demos, the latest installment of Southland garnered 936,000 adults 25-54 in Live + 3 (+4% vs. the prior week). Live + 7 deliveries for Southland's Feb. 13 season premiere will be available next week.

Cartoon Network

Across February 2013, Cartoon Network ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) delivery of boys 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in Total Day delivery of boys 9-14.

Cartoon Network was television's #1 destination for all boy demos (all TV) on Monday Night (7-9 p.m.), while #1 with boys 6-11/9-14 on Tuesday Night (7-9 p.m.), and #1 with boys 2-11/6-11 on Wednesday and Thursday Night.

Among the network's original programming, all-new episodes of Adventure Time (Monday, 7:30 p.m.) and Regular Show (8 p.m.) were #1 in their respective time periods with kids 9-14 and boys 6-11/9-14.

The Amazing World of Gumball (Tuesday, 7p.m.) ranked as the #1 program on Tuesdays with boys 6-11, while #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11/9-14. Additionally, the finale episode of Level Up (8 p.m.) was #1 in its timeslot with boys 6-11.

The new live-action comedy series Incredible Crew (Thursday, 8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with boys 6-11 on all TV and boys 9-14 on basic cable.

Saturday Morning premieres of Beyblade: Metal Fury, Pokemon BW: Adventures in Unova, Ben 10: Omniverse and Star Wars: The Clone Wars ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14. Ben 10: Omniverse and Star Wars: The Clone Wars grew by mostly double-digits across key kids and boys vs. the same time period last year.

truTV

truTV has scored its youngest February ever, with a prime median age of 41, a year younger than last February. And while truTV keeps getting younger, several of the network's direct non-fiction competitors are getting older, including Discovery (which grew from 45 to 46 vs. last February), History (47 to 52), Spike (41 to 43), TLC (42 to 43), Bravo (41 to 43) and Syfy (46 to 47).

truTV ranked as one of basic cable's Top 10 entertainment networks in primetime delivery of its target demo: men 18-49.

Hardcore Pawn (Tuesdays at 9 p.m.) had a record setting month, with its Feb. 5 season finale delivering more than 3.9 million viewers, the biggest audience ever for the network. For the month, Hardcore Pawn ranked as basic cable's #1 program in its time period with total viewers (3.7 million) and men 18-49 (952,000). It also ranked as the #2 program in its timeslot with adults 18-49 (1.8 million), trailing only sister network TBS. And it was among the Top 5 programs in the timeslot with adults 18-34 (754,000) and men 18-34 (387,000).

Lizard Lick Towing (Mondays at 10 p.m.) ranked among basic cable's Top 5 programs in its timeslot across the board, averaging 2.6 million viewers, 1.5 million adults 18-49 and 792,000 men 18-49. It was also a Top 5 finisher with the younger set, averaging 699,000 adults 18-34 and 362,000 men 18-34.

Impractical Jokers (Thursdays at 10 p.m.) scored a Top 5 ranking among basic cable programs in its timeslot, drawing more than 2.1 million viewers; 1.3 million adults 18-49; 723,000 men 18-49; 706,000 adults 18-34; and 376,000 men 18-34.?The hilarious hit show scored a remarkably young median age of only 33 in February.

Full Throttle Saloon (Wednesdays at 9 p.m.) attracted 1.7 million viewers, more than 1 million adults18-49 and 596,000 men 18-49 in February, with Top 5 basic cable rankings for the timeslot with the network's key demos.

truTV's new hit Guinness World Records(R) Gone Wild! (Thursdays at 8 p.m.) averaged 1.3 million viewers in February, with 734,000 adults 18-49 and 406,000 men 18-49, with double-digit timeslot growth across the board. The show also yielded a median age of 36, four years younger than the same time period a year ago.

Last week, truTV launched its newest series, Upload with Shaquille O'Neal, which turned in a solid performance with 1.3 million viewers, 872,000 adults 18-49 and 455,000 men 18-49.

NBA TV

NBA TV's special programming block on Monday, Feb. 18, with original content featuring NBA legends Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Charles Barkley, averaged 348,000 total viewers to become the network's most-watched primetime telecast window ever (excluding evenings with live game telecasts). Additionally, the programming lineup was NBA TV's most-watched Monday across the entire day (excluding days with live game telecasts).

One on One with Ahmad Rashad: Michael Jordan at 8 p.m. (ET) was the network's most-watched telecast of the day, with an average of 416,000 total viewers. Original content also included Mr. Russell's House at 9 p.m. and Sir Charles at 50 at 10 p.m.

From Friday through Monday (Feb. 15-18), NBA TV delivered the network's most-watched NBA All-Star coverage, with an average of 101,000 viewers across total day.

NBA TV's 16 NBA Fan Night presented by Sprint telecasts this season are averaging 480,000 total viewers, up 5% compared to last season (455,000 total viewers for 22 telecasts).
