Adult Swim's Total Day Relivery Ranks #1 Among Adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 on Basic Cable for the First Week of March 2013

Adult Swim

Adult Swim's Total Day delivery ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34, & 18-49 on basic cable for the first week of March 2013. Compared to the 2012 time period, Total day delivery grew across all targeted demos - adults 18-24 grew by 15%, adults 18-34 by 10%, adults 18-49 by 10%, men 18-24 by 18%, men 18-34 by 11% and men 18-49 by 8%.

In Prime Time, Adult Swim ranked #3 among basic cable networks for delivery of adults 18-34. Increasing by double-digits across all targeted demos vs. last year's time period, Prime delivery grew adults 18-24 by 29%, adults 18-34 by 20%, adults 18-49 by 20%, men 18-24 by 38%, men 18-34 by 17% and men 18-49 by 12%.

Thursday's new episode premiere of the original series Newsreaders (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 & 18-34, and men 18-24, growing by double-digits - ranging between 13% and 78% - across the board vs. the same time period last year.

An Adult Swim episode premiere of American Dad (Monday, 10:30 p.m.) earned double-digit growth across all targeted demos vs. the same time period year ago, ranging between 23% and 53%.

All new episodes that premiered during the action-adventure Toonami block - including Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater, and Tenchi Muyo! GXP - all earned double and triple-digit increases across all demos vs. the same time period year ago.

The Saturday premiere of the acquired series, The Cleveland Show (10:30 p.m.) was #1 in its timeslot with adults 18-24 and men 18-24/18-34, while the Sunday premiere ranked #1 with men 18-24. Both premieres grew by double-digits with key adults and men.

Adult Swim programming - including Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken - accounted for 17 of the top 50 telecasts among adults 18-34 on basic cable for the week, and 22 of the top 50 telecasts among men 18-34, both more than any other network.

Cartoon Network

Across the first week of March 2013, Cartoon Network ranked as television's #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) and Total Day delivery of boys 9-14.

Cartoon Network was the #1 destination for all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 on all TV on Thursday Night, while #1 among boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Monday and Saturday Night (7-9p), and #1 among boys 6-11 on Wednesday Night. Thursday night saw growth among kids 6-11 and boys 6-11 vs. the same time period last year.

A new episode of Cartoon Network's original animated series, Adventure Time (Monday, 7:30p), scored as the #1 telecast of the week among boys 9-14, the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in its time period among kids 9-14 and all boy demos. Immediately following, a new episode of Regular Show (Monday, 8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and MAD (8:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among boys 2-11 & 6-11.

Thursday night's new episode of the live-action sketch comedy Incredible Crew (8 p.m.) was the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11, and #1 in its timeslot with all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. Prior to this, original series Annoying Orange (7:30p) also ranked #1 in its timeslot with all boy demos.

Saturday Morning's season finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars ranked #1 in its time period among boys 9-14, growing by double-digits across kids and boys demos vs. the same time period last year.

TBS

TBS continued its winning ways by once again ranking as basic cable's #1 network for the first week of March with adults 18-34 in primetime.

The TBS original comedy Cougar Town took in 2.4 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery with last Tuesday's episode, with 1.5 million adults 18-49 and 700,000 adults 18-34. Meanwhile, the show's Feb. 12 episode has grown to a final tally of 3.1 million viewers in Live + 7, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 and 942,000 adults 18-34.

With one week left before its exciting season finale, TBS's hit competition series King of the Nerds drew 1.8 million viewers Thursday night in Live + 3 delivery, an exceptional +32% boost over the prior week's episode. The show also averaged 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 606,000 adults 18-34, the latter growing +7% over the prior week. This Thursday night at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), the winner of the competition will take his or her rightful place on the "Throne of Games" and be crowned King of the Nerds. TBS recently ordered second season of the show, slated to air in 2014.

Telecasts of The Big Bang Theory gave TBS 17 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts for the week with total viewers, along with 18 of the Top 20 with adults 18-49 and 16 of the Top 20 with adults 18-34.

TBS's late-night series CONAN averaged 845,000 total viewers in Live + Same Day and 527,000 adults 18-49. CONAN also drew 275,000 adults 18-34.

TNT

The Feb. 25th episode of TNT's hit drama Dallas drew 3.4 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, up 6% compared to the prior week's episode. In the demos, Dallas drew more than 1.5 million adults 25-54 (+15%) and 1.2 million adults 18-49 (+10%).

Last Wednesday night's episode of the TNT original drama series Southland garnered 1.9 viewers in Live + 3, a +9% increase compared to the prior week's episode. In the demos, the latest installment of Southland garnered 881,000 adults 25-54 and 839,000 adults 18-49. Leading into Southland was the premiere of TNT's new unscripted series Boston's Finest, which has garnered 1.5 million viewers in Live + 3, with 688,000 adults 25-54 and 570,000 adults 18-49.

In February, NBA on TNT game telecasts twice ranked No. 1 vs. ad-supported cable among men 18-49 (Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics on Feb. 7 and Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 14) and once among adults 18-34 and men 18-34 (Heat/Thunder).

truTV

After scoring its youngest February ever, truTV is now on its way to scoring its youngest Q1 ever, with a quarter-to-date primetime median age of 41.

Last week's Lizard Lick Towing (Monday at 10 p.m.) drew 2 million viewers in Live + Same Day, a +12% boost from the same time period last year. The show also ranked as one of basic cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with total viewers, adults 18-49 (1,044,000) and men 18-49 (568,000). To date this season, Lizard Lick Towing is averaging 2.3 million viewers, with 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 668,000 men 18-49.

With one week to go in its fourth season, truTV's Full Throttle Saloon (Wednesday at 9 p.m.) scored solid growth last week. The show averaged 1.5 million viewers (+12% vs. the prior week's episode); 863,000 adults 18-49 (+24%); and 514,000 men 18-49 (+20%). For the night, truTV garnered a Top 10 basic cable ranking among adults 18-49 and key male demos.

truTV's new hit Guinness World Records(R) Gone Wild! (Thursday at 8 p.m.) drew 1.3 million viewers last week, a +2% bump over the prior week's episode. The show also scored 622,000 adults 18-49 and 364,000 men 18-49. Among adults 18-34 (352,000), Guinness World Records Gone Wild! scored +19% growth over the prior week. The show ranked among basic cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with key adult and male demos. It also scored a remarkably low median age of 34, six years younger than the same night last year.

NBA TV

February marked the fourth most-watched month for NBA TV across total day since being nationally measured by Nielsen (29 months). NBA TV's 15 live game telecasts averaged 324,000 total viewers, up 4% compared to February 2012 (312,000 for 22 telecasts).

February's five NBA Fan Night presented by Sprint telecasts averaged 473,000 total viewers, up 23% compared to February 2012 (385,000 for seven Fan Night telecasts). Overall this season, NBA TV's 17 NBA Fan Night presented by Sprint telecasts are averaging 468,000 total viewers, up 3% compared to last season (455,000 total viewers for 22 telecasts).
