"SNL" Encore Delivers the Top rating of the Night in the Local People Meters, Out-Rating All Primetime Programming
NBC spins the numbers for Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.

[via press release from NBC]

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday night:

* An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Christoph Waltz and musical guest Alabama Shakes, averaged a 3.3/8 in metered-market households, equaling its overnight rating for the same night last year.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, last night's "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 1.8 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49. "SNL" delivered the top rating of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the Local People Meters, out-rating all primetime programming on those networks. The 1.8 is "SNL's" highest LPM 18-49 rating for an encore since March 16 (1.8 for a telecast hosted by Jennifer Lawrence with musical guest The Lumineers) and matches "SNL's" top rating for an encore since January 12, 2013 (2.0 for a telecast hosted by Christina Applegate with musical guest Passion Pit). Versus the same night last year, "SNL" is up 6 percent in the Local People Meters (1.8 vs. 1.7).

Saturday Primetime Results:

* At 8 p.m. ET, "Smash" averaged a 0.4/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall. Week to week, "Smash" is up 4 percent in total viewers (1.908 million vs. 1.839 million). Note that "Smash" is a highly time-shifted show, with the prior Saturday's telecast more than doubling its 18-49 rating when going from these next-day "live plus same day" results to "live plus three day" ratings (to a 0.84 from a 0.38, +121%).

* At 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Voice" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 40 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.7 from a 0.5) and 23 percent in total viewers (2.6 million vs. 2.1 million).

* At 10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Vince Vaughn and musical guest Miguel (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall) built from its first half-hour to its second by 13 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 rating from a 0.8), 22 percent in adults 25-54 (1.1 vs. 0.9) and 75 percent in men 18-34 (0.7 vs. 0.3).

Friday Primetime Results:

* Friday results are subject to significant revision, with live news coverage filling most of primetime in the Eastern U.S.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.0/5.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.8/5 in metered-market households and a 0.8/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
