Monday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, ABC Split Demo Crown as Dramas Rise

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (6.803 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T1) was the most-watched network on Monday with its mix of "How I Met Your Mother" (4.098 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #8), "2 Broke Girls" (3.987 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9), another "2 Broke Girls" (4.798 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "Mike & Molly" (5.188 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "Under the Dome" (11.374 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1).

ABC (5.672 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T1) then split the demo crown thanks to originals from "The Bachelorette" (6.475 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) and "Mistresses" (4.067 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5).

Next up was NBC (3.985 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its lineup of "American Ninja Warrior" (5.173 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls" (3.734 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) and a special "Dateline NBC" (3.050 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.892 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up repeats of "Raising Hope" (2.275 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11), another "Raising Hope" (1.889 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12), "New Girl" (1.716 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12) and "The Mindy Project" (1.686 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12).

And finally, a repeat of "Hart of Dixie" (0.726 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) and the premiere of "Breaking Pointe" (0.538 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) on The CW (0.632 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Dixie" delivered a 0.2 rating while "Pointe" posted a 0.2 rating.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.4/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (7/23/12):

FOX (6.39 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) was the top draw on Monday thanks to originals from "Hell's Kitchen" (6.33 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2) and "MasterChef" (6.45 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1).

The silver then went to NBC (4.63 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) with a repeat of "Fear Factor" (4.06 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) followed by two-hour season finale of "American Ninja Warrior" (4.91 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3).

Next up was ABC (3.88 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with the season premiere of "Bachelor Pad" (4.68 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) alongside a new "The Glass House" (2.28 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.14 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) offered up its all-repeat lineup of "How I Met Your Mother" (4.12 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9), "2 Broke Girls" (4.61 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7), "Two and a Half Men" (5.76 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4), "Mike & Molly" (5.25 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) and "Hawaii Five-0" (5.57 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9).

And finally, repeats of "90210" (0.69 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) and "Remodeled" (0.48 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) on The CW (0.59 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) rounded out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), 90210" delivered a 0.4 rating while "Remodeled" posted a 0.3 rating.
