"The Voice" and "The Blacklist" Generated the Night's #1 and #2 Ratings on the Big 4 Networks
NBC spins the numbers for Monday, October 7.

Monday Results (ABC carried the Jets-Falcons NFL telecast in Atlanta and CW carried the game in New York):

"The Voice" and "The Blacklist" generated the night's #1 and #2 ratings on the Big 4 networks. NBC won the night among ABC, CBS, NBC & Fox in all key categories for a third week in a row, winning six of six half-hours in 18-49 among those nets, also for a third week in a row (while also leading six of six in total viewers last night). NBC is winning the night among the Big 4 by a 78% margin in 18-49 (with a 4.1 rating vs. a 2.3 for #2 Fox).

· From 8-10:01 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.5 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 14.3 million viewers overall) won the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key ratings category, including total viewers, despite competition from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." "The Voice" is #1 for the night on those networks in 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. "The Voice" is currently running within a tenth of a point of last week's 4.6 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings and within 0.2 of last week's 4.7 in official nationals.

· "The Voice grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 32% or 1.2 rating points in adults 18-49 (to a 5.0 from a 3.8) and by 20% or 2.5 million persons in total viewers (15.3 million vs. 12.8 million).

· From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Blacklist" (3.2/9 in adults 18-49, 11.3 million viewers overall) is #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key ratings category, with an adult 18-49 margin of +60% versus ABC's #2 "Castle" (3.2 vs. 2.0).

· "The Blacklist" is running within 3% of last week's rating in 18-49 (3.2 vs. 3.3) and within 1% in total viewers (11.260 million vs. 11.348 million). And note that last week's "Blacklist" added 50% to its 18-49 rating in "live plus three day" results, up from a 33% increase the prior week. In total viewers, the increase was 5.1 million, a broadcast-network record (see details below).

· Versus NBC's slot result on the same night one year ago, "The Blacklist" is up 7% (3.2 vs. 3.0 for the Oct. 8 telecast of "Revolution"). In total viewers, "The Blacklist" is up 41% versus the same night last season (11.260 million vs. 8.008 million).

"BLACKLIST" SETS TIME-SHIFTING RECORD

· The Sept. 30 telecast of "The Blacklist" set a new record for biggest "live plus three day" lift over "live plus same day" results on the broadcast networks, becoming the first show on those nets to add more than 5 million viewers when going from its L+SD audience to its L+3 result.

· The Sept. 30 "Blacklist" averaged 16.4 million viewers in L+3, an increase of 5.1 million or 45% versus its 11.3 million in L+SD. That 5.1 million is bigger than the week-one increase of 4.4 million, which set a new record for biggest increase from L+SD to L+3 in broadcast-network history.

· The percentage increase went up from 35% in week one to 45% in week two. In 18-49, the lift from L+SD to L+3 was also bigger in week two (1.66 vs. 1.28 rating points or 50% vs. 33%). The Sept. 30 "Blacklist" rose in 18-49 from a 3.29 rating to a 4.95

· Week two of "The Blacklist" retained 97% of its premiere-week viewership in L+3 (16.4 million vs. 16.9 million) and also retained 97% in 18-49 rating (4.95 vs. 5.11).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/6.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
