Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Continues Demo Streak with Expanded "Voice"

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/5/13):

NBC (9.718 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1) was the top demo draw on Tuesday with a new "The Biggest Loser 15" (6.821 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5) followed by an expanded two-hour "The Voice" (11.167 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1).

CBS (15.115 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) then took home the silver with originals from "NCIS" (18.981 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.651 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #4) and "Person of Interest" (11.714 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #7).

Next up was FOX (3.580 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) and its comedy lineup of "Dads" (3.671 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #11), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (3.893 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #8), "New Girl" (3.872 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.0, #6) and "The Mindy Project" (2.882 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.935 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) served up its mix of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (7.028 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.5, #3), "The Goldbergs" (5.013 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T9), "Trophy Wife" (3.765 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12) and "In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Countdown to the CMA Awards" (3.388 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #15).

And finally, new episodes of "The Originals" (2.030 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T13) and "Supernatural" (2.104 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T13) on The CW (2.067 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Originals" delivered a 1.2 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 1.0 rating.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/6.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the six ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/6/12):

NBC (12.56 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.6, #1) was the top election results draw last night with "NBC News Special: 2012 Election Night" (12.56 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.6, #1).

The silver then went to ABC (11.15 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.8, #2) and its "ABC News' Your Voice, Your Vote: Election Night Coverage" (11.15 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.8, #2).

Next up was CBS (8.42 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3) and its presentation of "Campaign 2012: CBS News Coverage of Election Night" (8.42 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3).

Meanwhile, FOX (4.95 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4) offered up its "You Decide 2012" (4.95 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4) results.

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (1.81 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) and "Emily Owens, MD" (1.28 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #6) on The CW (1.55 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.6 rating while "Emily" posted a 0.4 rating.
