Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Criminal Minds" Puts CBS in Front Among Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/13/13):

CBS (10.554 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) pulled in front on Wednesday thanks to its lineup of "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" (9.765 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3), "Criminal Minds" (11.623 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.273 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #6).

ABC (7.112 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then had to settle for second place with its mix of "The Middle" (8.862 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #4), "Back in the Game" (6.406 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.8, #7), "Modern Family" (10.614 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.8, #1), "Super Fun Night" (5.921 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5) and "Nashville" (5.434 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.5, #11).

Next up was FOX (5.765 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) with a new "The X Factor" (5.693 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T8) followed by a second "The X Factor" (5.838 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T8).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.430 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) served up originals from "Revolution" (5.139 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #12), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.087 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #10) and "Dateline NBC" (5.065 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (2.987 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13) and "The Tomorrow People" (1.693 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) on The CW (2.340 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.8 rating while "Tomorrow" posted a 0.4 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/14/12):

FOX (8.09 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.9, #1) reclaimed the top spot on Wednesday with new episodes of "The X Factor" (8.01 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.9, #4) and a second "The X Factor" (8.16 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 3.0, #T2).

CBS (10.97 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #2) then snagged a competitive second place with its mix of "Survivor: Philippines" (9.98 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.6, #5), "Criminal Minds" (12.13 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #T2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.81 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T7).

ABC (7.73 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.5, #3) likewise was in the hunt with new episodes of "The Middle" (8.74 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.5, #6), "The Neighbors" (6.74 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.9, #9), "Modern Family" (11.90 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.6, #1), "Suburgatory" (7.22 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T7) and "Nashville" (5.89 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.8, #10).
