"The Spoils of Babylon" Premiere Night Draws Nearly 2.3 Million Viewers to IFC
IFC spins the numbers for Thursday, January 9.

"THE SPOILS OF BABYLON" PREMIERE NIGHT DRAWS NEARLY 2.3 MILLION VIEWERS TO IFC

NEW YORK, NY - January 14, 2013 - The premiere night of IFC's newest original comedy, The Spoils of Babylon, delivered a combined audience of nearly 2.3 million total viewers and nearly 1.2 million Adults 18-49 on Thursday, January 9. The first half-hour episode of the two-episode back-to-back premiere delivered 911,000 total viewers and 477,000 adults 18-49.

IFC's The Spoils of Babylon was the #1 ranked show on SocialGuide in Unique Audience and Impressions versus all cable non-sports programming and #3 among all TV shows for the night. The epic TV miniseries is based on the work of famed author Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell).

"We could not be more pleased to see a viewer response to this premiere night worthy of the great Eric Jonrosh and his epic work," said Jennifer Caserta, IFC president. "We look forward to continuing this star-studded and meticulously-crafted ride over the next four weeks."

The Spoils of Babylon is a momentous and sweeping tale of forbidden love, betrayal, corruption and bloodshed. The gripping six-part saga features Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Jellybean Howie, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Tim Robbins, Michael Sheen, Steve Tom and Kristen Wiig with cameos by David Spade and Molly Shannon, and Carey Mulligan voicing a mannequin. The miniseries is produced by Funny or Die and executive produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele and Nate Young.

The remaining four episodes will air Thursday nights at 10:00 pm with the finale airing February 6.
