Night Two of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Continues to Deliver Strong Sampling at the Show's Special Midnight Start Time

Tuesday Late-Night Metered-Market Results:

· Night two of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" continued to deliver strong sampling at the show's special midnight start time following late local news and NBC's coverage of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

· Tuesday's "Tonight" averaged a 5.3 rating, 15 share in household results from the 56 local markets metered by Nielsen Media Research.

· That made it "Tonight's" biggest Tuesday in metered-market households in seven years (since Feb. 13, 2007, 5.3)

· Despite its later start time, "Tonight" topped the combined rating of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" (2.2/5) and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (1.9/5) by 29% (5.3 vs. a combined 4.1).

· Night two of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" retained 75% of the show's night-one rating in metered-market households (5.3 vs. 7.1), up from a 70% retention for night two of "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" (5.0 on June 2, 2009 vs. 7.1 on June 1, 2009).

· Tuesday's telecast is up versus "Tonight's" season-to-date average in the metered markets by +83% (5.3 vs. 2.9).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, the premiere of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" also generated solid sampling, averaging a 2.3 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49. The 2.3 doubles the combined ratings of "Late Show" (0.5) and "Kimmel" (0.6), despite "Tonight's" later start time.

Detailed Results in Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 5.3 rating, 15 share from midnight-1 a.m. ET; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/5, and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "Tonight," 2.3/12 at midnight; "Late Show," 0.5/2, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· Night two of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" continued to deliver strong sampling at the show's special midnight start time following late local news and NBC's coverage of the Sochi Winter Olympics.

· Tuesday's "Tonight" averaged a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.366 million viewers overall, according to fast-official "live plus same day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

· That made it "Tonight's" biggest Tuesday in total viewers in 13 years (since Dec. 26, 2000, 7.448 million viewers).

· Tuesday's telecast is up 84% versus "Tonight's" season-to-date average in the metered markets (7.366 million vs. 4.011 million, L+SD through Feb. 9).

· Despite its later start time, the Feb. 18 "Tonight Show" outperformed the combined results for CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" (2.694 million) and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (2.147million) by 52% (7.366 million vs. a combined 4.841 million).

· In adults 18-49, "Tonight's" 2.3 rating topped the combined results of "Late Show" (0.6) and "Kimmel" (0.5) by 109% (2.3 vs. a combined 1.1).

· The 2.3 equals "Tonight's" highest Tuesday adult 18-49 rating in eight years (since Dec. 13, 2005, 2.5).
