Monday's Broadcast Ratings: "MasterChef," "24" Put FOX in Front Among Demos

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/2/14):

FOX (5.660 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the demo champ on Monday thanks to new episodes of "MasterChef" (5.081 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3) and "24: Live Another Day" (6.240 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2).

NBC (4.928 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then claimed the silver with an encore of "Last Comic Standing" (4.260 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) followed by a new "American Ninja Warrior" (5.262 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1).

Next up was ABC (5.826 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with a new "The Bachelorette" (6.499 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3) alongside the return of "Mistresses" (4.478 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.474 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up repeats of "2 Broke Girls" (4.806 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), "Mom" (4.682 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), "Mike & Molly" (5.518 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9), another "Mike & Molly" (5.571 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6) plus a special "48 Hours" (6.132 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T6).

And finally, the relocated "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.676 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12), a repeat of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.553 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) and the return of "Beauty and the Beast" (1.108 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14) on The CW (1.361 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) rounded out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Whose Line" posted a 0.4 rating at 8:00/7:00c and 0.5 rating at 8:30/7:30c while "Beast" managed a 0.4 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.6/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/3/13):

NBC (9.460 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) was once again the network to beat on Monday with a new "The Voice" (11.050 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.2, #1) and the season finale of "Revolution" (6.281 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2).

ABC (5.207 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then claimed a distant second place with week two of "The Bachelorette" (5.600 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) followed by the premiere of "Mistresses" (4.421 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4).

Next up was CBS (4.461 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its repeat lineup of "How I Met Your Mother" (3.405 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "Rules of Engagement" (3.449 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "2 Broke Girls" (4.385 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5), "Mike & Molly" (4.799 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #7) and "Hawaii Five-0" (5.365 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.734 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up its mix of "Raising Hope" (2.235 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), "The Goodwin Games" (1.665 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), "New Girl" (1.393 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12) and "Anger Management" (1.642 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11).

And finally, a new "Oh Sit!" (0.714 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) and a repeat "The Carrie Diaries" (0.404 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #15) on The CW (0.559 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Sit!" delivered a 0.2 rating while "Carrie" posted a 0.2 rating.
