SATURDAY'S ENCORE OF "48 HOURS: THE DEVIL'S TWIN" WAS THE NIGHT'S #1 BROADCAST WITH VIEWERS
An updated encore broadcast of 48 HOURS: "The Devil's Twin" was Saturday's #1 program with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for June 14, 2014.
48 HOURS "The Devil's Twin" averaged 5.38 million viewers, a 1.2/04 with adults 25-54 - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - and a 0.8/03 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS was up +38% in viewers, and up +33% in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
"The Devil's Twin" featured Erin Moriarty and 48 HOURS investigation into the murder of Heather DeWild, who went missing in 2003 after a visit to her estranged husband Dan DeWild's house. Heather's body was found six weeks after the visit to Dan DeWild's home by a road worker moving dirt. Police suspected her estranged husband, but there was no murder weapon, no fingerprints and no blood in the house where police believed she was killed. The case grew cold until a new district attorney was encouraged by Heather's parents to reinvestigate the case. Eight years after Heather's body was found, Dan and his identical twin brother David DeWild were arrested for her murder. In a twist, prosecutors learned that before Heather disappeared, the DeWild brothers had been watching TV crime dramas and forensic shows.
"The Devil's Twin" is produced by Lisa Freed. Lindsey Gutterman is the field producer. Michael McHugh is the producer-editor. Grayce Arlotta-Berner and Phil Tangel are the editors. Linda Martin is the update producer. Suzanne Allen is the senior coordinating producer. Judy Tygard is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
