Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: "Big Brother" Leads CBS to Another Victory

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/26/14):

CBS (5.656 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) snagged the top spot on Thursday thanks to its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.941 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2), "The Millers" (5.529 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4), "Big Brother 16" (6.556 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) and "Elementary" (3.677 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12).

FOX (3.689 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then had to settle for second place with originals from "Hell's Kitchen" (4.852 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2) and "Gang Related" (2.526 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Next up was NBC (3.083 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its lineup of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.328 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), "Undateable" (2.844 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), another "Undateable" (2.636 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and "Last Comic Standing" (3.181 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.752 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up new episodes of "Black Box" (3.885 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #13), "Rookie Blue" (4.873 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and the return of "NY Med" (5.497 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #6).

And finally, repeats of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.562 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T14) and "The Originals" (0.483 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T14) on The CW (0.523 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.1, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" delivered a 0.2 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Originals" a 0.1 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.0/5 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 1.7/4; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/1; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/3 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/27/13):

FOX (3.823 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) pulled in front on Thursday thanks to a new "Hell's Kitchen" (5.380 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T1) and the season finale of "Does Someone Have to Go?" (2.266 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

CBS (6.241 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then took home the silver with its repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.865 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T1), "Two and a Half Men" (6.044 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3), "Person of Interest" (6.480 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and "Elementary" (5.289 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

Next up was ABC (4.602 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with the post-NBA return of "Wipeout" (3.697 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6), "Motive" (5.017 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Rookie Blue" (5.093 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.346 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up its second run mix of "Parks & Recreation" (2.141 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), another "Parks & Recreation" (1.758 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), "The Office" (1.643 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), another "The Office" (1.818 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and "America's Got Talent" (3.358 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

And finally, rebroadcasts of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.799 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "Beauty and the Beast" (0.588 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) closed out the evening over on The CW (0.694 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
