Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: Another Week, Another "Got Talent" Win for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/26/14):

NBC (7.843 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was still the network to beat on Tuesday with new episodes of "Food Fighters" (4.679 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and "America's Got Talent" (9.425 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1).

ABC (4.476 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with originals from "Bachelor in Paradise" (4.807 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) and "20/20: From Hell" (3.814 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #6).

Next up was CBS (6.771 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with repeats of "NCIS" (8.902 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.693 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5) and "Person of Interest" (4.719 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.402 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up second runs of "Family Guy" (1.600 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.370 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9), "New Girl" (1.252 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and "The Mindy Project" (1.385 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9).

And finally, The CW (0.641 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening with its special "The iHeartRadio Album Release Party with Maroon 5" (0.734 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T12) plus a repeat of "Supernatural" (0.549 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T12). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the special delivered a 0.1 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.2 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.3/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/27/13):

NBC (6.797 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was the network to beat for the sixth consecutive Tuesday with a rebroadcast of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.328 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and a new two-hour "America's Got Talent" (8.531 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1).

FOX (4.007 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then snagged the silver with its mainstay "So You Think You Can Dance" (4.007 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

Next up was ABC (3.543 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with a new "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.752 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) alongside a repeat "Body of Proof" (3.125 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Meanwhile, CBS (6.507 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) was out of the demo hunt with repeats of "NCIS" (8.380 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.035 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Person of Interest" (5.107 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

And finally, a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.277 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.205 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and a new "Capture" (1.074 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11) closed out the evening on The CW (1.658 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Line" delivered a 0.7 and a 0.8 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Capture" a 0.4 rating at 9:00/8:00c.
