"Nightline" Builds Audience Week-to-Week in All Key Demos; Most Watched Week in Three Months

"Nightline" Posts Year-to-Year Increases in All Key Demos

Season to Date, "Nightline" Leads CBS in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54, and Adults 18-49

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.559 million Total Viewers, 584,000 Adults 25-54 and 455,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of September 1, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" during the week in Total Viewers (+301,000), Adults 25-54 (+177,000) and Adults 18-49 (+143,000).

For the 2nd straight week, "Nightline" posted week-to-week increases (1.337 million, 568,000 and 432,000, respectively on w/o 8/25/14) in Total Viewers (+17%), Adults 25-54 (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%). "Nightline" saw its most-watched week in 3 months - since w/o 6/9/14.

"Nightline" improved on the same week last year (1.417 million, 570,000, and 422,000, respectively, on w/o 8/2/13) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+10%), Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%).

Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+254,000), Adults 25-54 (+102,000) and Adults 18-49 (+59,000).

NOTE: Due to the Labor Day holiday (9/2/13), ABC's, CBS' and NBC's Monday telecasts were coded as specials and excluded from the weekly averages. ABC's, CBS' and NBC's averages are based on 4 days (Tue-Fri).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Dan Abrams, and Juju Chang. Almin Karamehmedovic is executive producer and Steven Baker is Senior Broadcast Producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
