Live + 3: ABC's "How to Get Away With Murder" Marks Largest-Ever L+3 Viewer Lift of Any Telecast on Any Network

ABC's Live + 3 Day data for season premiere Thursday (9/25/14):

At 10pm, the debut of ABC's How to Get Away With Murder was the #1 biggest overall gainer of Premiere Week 2014-15, adding on +6.0 million Total Viewers after 3 days of playback. In fact, ABC's new drama delivered the largest-ever Total Viewer increase in L+3 for any telecast on any network, beating the previous record holder (the 1/27/14 telecast of NBC's The Blacklist) by 7% (+6.0 million vs. +5.6 million). HTGAWM soared to 20.3 million Total Viewers (from 14.3 million in L+SD) in the just released L+3 data.

Adding +1.9 rating points to its L+SD tally, How to Get Away With Murder is the 2nd-biggest gainer so far this season among Adults 18-49 (behind only CBS' The Big Bang Theory premiere) and is the #1 freshman gainer, topping the playback gains of Fox's Gotham (+1.8 rating points). HTGAWM jumped to a 5.8 rating (from a 3.9 in L+SD) in the L+3 numbers.

At 9pm, the season premiere of ABC's Scandal grew to 15.6 million Total Viewers (+28% - up +3.4 million from 12.2 million in L+SD) and a 5.3 in Adults 18-49 (+36% - up +1.4 from a 3.9 in L+SD). Scandal saw bigger L+3 gains than its year-ago opener in both Viewers (+3.4 million vs. +2.8 million) and young adults (+1.4 rating points vs. +1.2 rating points). Scandal scored its best-ever L+3 numbers in both Total Viewers (15.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (5.3 rating).

In its new 8pm slot, ABC's Grey's Anatomy premiere jumped to 13.1 million Total Viewers (+30% - up +3.0 million from 10.1 million in L+SD) and a 4.5 in Adults 18-49 (+45% - up +1.4 from a 3.1 in L+SD). Grey's delivered its most-watched L+3 telecast in 2 years - since 10/4/12.
