Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Takes 18-49 Crown in Close Race with ABC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/2/14):

NBC (7.686 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) edged out the top demo spot on Tuesday with its mix of "The Voice" (11.096 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1), "Marry Me" (4.963 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8), "About a Boy" (4.266 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13) and "Chicago Fire" (7.346 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5).

ABC (5.757 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then was a close second place with its combination of "Toy Story That Time Forgot" (6.789 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3), "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (6.751 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (5.334 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.8, #4) and "Forever" (5.166 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12).

Next up was FOX (3.791 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and its lineup of "MasterChef Junior" (4.852 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5), "New Girl" (3.009 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8) and "The Mindy Project" (2.453 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13).

Meanwhile, CBS (9.660 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) served up second runs of "NCIS" (11.476 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8), "NCIS: New Orleans" (10.490 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T8) and "Person of Interest" (7.013 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #15).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (4.222 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.5, #7) and "Supernatural" (2.358 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.9, #16) on The CW (3.290 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "The Flash" posted a 1.1 rating while "Supernatural" delivered a 0.7 rating.

NBC (8.952 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) was back in the top spot on Tuesday thanks to new episodes of "The Biggest Loser 15" (6.719 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3), "The Voice" (11.891 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1) and "Chicago Fire" (8.246 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2).

CBS (10.124 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then took home the silver even with its all-repeat lineup of "NCIS" (12.366 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T4), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (9.542 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6) and "Person of Interest" (8.465 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9).

Next up was FOX (2.855 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with originals from "Dads" (3.335 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (3.668 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T4), a repeat "New Girl" (2.060 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T15) and a new "The Mindy Project" (2.358 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.2, #10).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.625 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) served up a rebroadcast of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.620 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T15) alongside new episodes of "The Goldbergs" (4.522 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6) and "Trophy Wife" (3.485 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) plus the return of "Primetime: What Would You Do?" And finally, The CW (2.446 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) closed out the evening with the fall finales of "The Originals" (2.443 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) and "Supernatural" (2.451 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11). ·In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
