Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Rides "Shark Tank" Return to Top Demo Spot

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/9/15):

ABC (7.141 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) pulled back in front on Friday with the return of new episodes from "Last Man Standing" (8.590 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2), "Cristela" (6.682 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #7), "Shark Tank" (7.699 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (6.086 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5).

CBS (10.812 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was a close second place with originals from "Undercover Boss" (8.516 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3), "Hawaii Five-0" (11.287 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3) and "Blue Bloods" (12.633 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5).

Next up was NBC (3.465 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) with a repeat of "Grimm" (2.419 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) followed by "Dateline NBC" (5.571 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #8) and "Countdown to the Globes" (2.406 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.346 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) offered up the season premiere of "Glee" (2.436 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9) and a second hour of "Glee" (2.255 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, the formal return of "Hart of Dixie" (0.759 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.659 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and a new "Masters of Illusion" (0.655 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) on The CW (0.708 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.3, 0.2 and 0.2 rating, respectively.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show " (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (9.326 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the most-watched network thanks to a rebroadcast of "Intelligence" (5.046 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9) followed by new episodes of "Hawaii Five-0" (10.442 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3) and "Blue Bloods" (12.490 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3).

Next up was FOX (4.660 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with new episodes of "Bones" (6.788 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3) and "Raising Hope" (2.679 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) plus the premiere of "Enlisted" (2.386 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #13).
