"THE TONIGHT SHOW" HITS EIGHTH-MONTH RATINGS HIGH IN 18-49 WITH WEEK OF L.A. TELECASTS

'Tonight's' YouTube Channel Nearly Doubles Previous Record Week with 131.5 Million Total Views

NEW YORK - Feb. 12, 2015 - With a week of telecasts from Los Angeles, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has delivered its top-rated week in nearly eight months in adults 18-49.

Last week's special L.A.-based "Tonight" telecasts (including a Friday encore of the show's Jan. 19 episode) delivered a 1.22 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49, making it the top-rated week for "Tonight" since June 9-13, 2014 (1.24). In total viewers, Fallon averaged 4.185 million persons for the most-watched "Tonight" week since Dec. 15-19, 2014, the week of "The Voice" finale (4.2 million).

Counting just the week's four L.A.-based originals, "Tonight" averaged a 1.29, which would be the show's highest rated week since March 24-28, 2014.

For the week of Feb. 2-6, Fallon's 1.22 beat the combined 1.13 of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.60, including a Friday encore) and CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" (0.53).

The YouTube channel for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" nearly doubled its previous single-week total-view record, with 131.5 million views for the week of L.A.-based telecasts combined with the prior Sunday's post-Super Bowl edition from Phoenix, which topped the previous record of 72.1 million views set the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 4, 2014.

It was the biggest week in the channel's history, with new daily and weekly records for subscribers gained, total views and subscriber views. On Thursday, Feb. 5, the channel brought in 33.3 million views, nearly doubling its single-day total-view record prior to last week of 16.6 million set on May 23, 2014.

Additionally, it was the first week the channel had two videos in the same week reach 20 million views in their first week online, with the "Saved by the Bell" clip and the "Lip Sync with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart," which both topped 10 million views in their first 25 hours online.

It was also the channel's biggest week of subscriber views to date. The previous single-day record was 1.5 million subscriber views, and last week the channel hit 2.8 million on Monday, Feb. 2 and had five consecutive days with over 2 million subscriber views each.

Note that the Feb. 2-6 TV ratings do not include Sunday's 12:13 a.m. ET post-Super Bowl edition of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," which earned a 3.58 adult 18-49 rating and 9.730 million viewers overall. In adults 18-49 and total viewers, it was the second-highest-rated Fallon installment of either "Tonight" or "Late Night," behind only Fallon's first "Tonight" at midnight on Feb. 17. 2014 (3.82 in 18-49, 11.3 million viewers overall) following an Olympics overrun.

In total viewers, it was the most-watched post-Super Bowl talk-show telecast in the history of people meters, besting prior editions of "Tonight," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (including the show's 2003 series premiere), "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Politically Incorrect," all having aired from 1998-2013. In 18-49, this year's "Tonight" was the #2 post-Super Bowl talk-show telecast, behind only a 1998 "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (4.22).

For the Feb. 2-6 week, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.57 in 18-49, 1.728 million viewers overall) captured its highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in 10 weeks (since Nov. 24-28, 0.58 in 18-49, 1.749 million viewers overall). Meyers outrated CBS's Letterman in 18-49 (0.57 vs. 0.53) despite starting an hour later.

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" (0.32 in 18-49, 904,000 viewers overall) hit an eight-week high in 18-49 (best since Dec. 8-12, 2014, 0.34), and a six-week high in total viewers (best since Dec.22-26, 2014, 907,000). Daly beat CBS's "Late Late Show" in 18-49 (0.32 vs. 0.30) despite starting an hour later.
