ABC Wins Friday as 20/20 Spikes to a Near 9-Year Summertime High
ABC Friday Prime (8-11pm - 5.2 million and 1.1/5 in AD18-49): ABC won Friday in Adults 18-49 (1.1/5), delivering the Top 3 shows of the night with 20/20 (1.4/6), What Would You Do? (1.0/4) and Shark Tank-R (0.8/4-tie). ABC was also the most-watched network (5.2 million), driven by 20/20 (7.2 million) as the top TV show with the newsmagazine's most-watched summertime telecast since 2006. 20/20 featured reporting on The Wolfpack, a group of six brothers who grew up locked in a New York City apartment, and Elizabeth Vargas' first broadcast interview with five of the brothers.
20/20 (10-11pm - 7.2 million and 1.4/6 in AD18-49): At 10pm, ABC's 20/20 dominated its hour over NBC's Dateline (3.8 million viewers, 0.8/3 in AD18-49 and 1.1/4 in AD25-54) and spiked by strong double digits week to week in Total Viewers (+39% - 7.2 million vs. 5.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+27% - 1.4/6 vs. 1.1/4) and Adults 25-54 (+33% - 2.0/7 vs. 1.5/5), hitting 8-week highs on all three measures - since Bruce Jenner: The Interview aired on 4/24/15. In fact the ABC newsmagazine marked its most-watched summertime telecast in nearly 9 years (Memorial Day-Labor Day) - since 8/11/06.
