Disney's "Descendants" Powers Disney Channel to Primetime Sweep and Over 1-Year Highs

Disney Channel Wins the Week in Total Viewers and Major Youth Demographics, Propelled by Disney's "Descendants," the Most Watched Cable TV Movie of 2015 and Top Rated Telecast in Two Years in Kids 2-11 and Tweens

Disney Channel: Primetime and Total Day Highlights

Delivering over 1-year ratings highs, Disney Channel won Primetime, ranking as cable TV's #1 network in Total Viewers (2.3 million) and TV's #1 network across major youth demographics -- Kids 2-11 (1.1 million/2.9 rating), Kids 6-11 (927,000/3.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (821,000/3.4 rating) -- powered by the premiere and encore telecasts of the original movie "Descendants."

· This week was Disney Channel's most watched week in over 18 months in Total Viewers and Tweens 9-14 and in 13 months in Kids 6-11 - since weeks of 12/30/13, 1/13/14 and 6/23/14, respectively.

In Total Day, Disney Channel also won the week among target kid and tween demographics for the 9th week in a row, ranking #1 in Kids 2-11 (753,000/1.9 rating), Kids 6-11 (592,000/2.5 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (568,000/2.4 rating) and was the #1 cable TV network for the 4th-straight week in Total Viewers (1.6 million).

· Disney Channel surpassed Nickelodeon by record margins in Total Viewers (+30% - 1.552 million vs. 1.194 million, tied week of 6/22/15) and Tweens 9-14 (+162% - 568,000 vs. 217,000), was ahead by double digits for the 22nd-consecutive week in Kids 6-11 (+74% - 592,000 vs. 340,000) and for the 7th week running in Kids 2-11 (+22% - 753,000 vs. 618,000).

· Overall, Disney Channel has been TV's #1 Total Day network for 219-consecutive weeks in Tweens (4+ years) and for the 73-straight weeks in Kids 6-11 (218 out of 219 weeks overall) - since weeks of 6/13/11 and 3/24/14, respectively.

For its premiere, Disney's "Descendants" (Fri., 8:00 p.m. ET/PT) ranked as the week's #1 cable TV telecast in Total Viewers (6.6 million - #3 scripted telecast across all TV), the #1 scripted cable TV telecast in Adults 18-49 (1.8 million/1.4 rating) and the #1 telecast across all cable TV in two years in Kids 2-11 (3.0 million/7.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million/9.5 rating). Since February 2013, Disney Channel has delivered the Top 14 cable TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and the Top 9 cable TV telecasts in Kids 2-11.

· In its first encore telecast, "Descendants" (Sat., 11:00 a.m. ET/PT) was the #1 cable TV telecast of the day in Total Viewers (2.9 million) and TV's #1 telecast among Kids 2-11 (1.5 million/3.7 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.2 million/5.1 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.0 million/4.2 rating).

· In its second encore telecast, "Descendants" (Sun., 8:00 p.m. ET/PT) was Sunday's #1 scripted cable TV telecast in Total Viewers (3.3 million) and TV's #1 telecast among Kids 2-11 (1.5 million/3.9 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.3 million/5.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.2 million/4.8 rating).

· Disney Channel aired the week's Top 8 TV telecasts in Kids 2-11, the Top 9 in Kids 6-11 and the Top 27 in Tweens 9-14 (Top 5 below):
