CBS.com Sees Triple-Digit Percentage Increases on Full Episode Streams and is Television's Most Social Entertainment Show
CBS's premiere of THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT averaged 6.6 million viewers, and was Tuesday's most-watched late night program in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen live plus same day fast national ratings for Sept. 8.
THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT was up +203% in viewers (from 2.16m), +260% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5), +250% in adults 18-49 (from 0.4) and +233% in adults 18-34 (from 0.3) compared to THE LATE SHOW on the same night last year. Compared to the season premiere of THE LATE SHOW (on Sept. 22), THE LATE SHOW was up +131% in viewers (from 2.83m), +200% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6), +180% in adults 18-49 (from 0.5) and +233% in adults 18-34 (from 0.3).
THE LATE SHOW delivered its largest Tuesday audience, excluding David Letterman's final week, since July 25, 1995, its biggest adult 25-54 delivery since Feb. 9, 2010, its largest adult 18-49 demographic since Jan. 27, 2009 and its highest adults 18-34 numbers since Sept. 4, 2007.
On the 14 CBS owned stations, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT averaged 5.3/15, up +231% versus the same night last year (1.6/04) and up +179% from last year's "Late Show" season premiere (1.9/05). Every CBS owned station ranked first in late night in viewers.
On CBS.com, THE LATE SHOW experienced its highest premiere-day traffic ever, and streams of the full episode are up triple-digits compared to last year to date. In addition, the premiere of THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT was the most social entertainment show on television yesterday, according to Nielsen Social Guide.
