Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: NFL Sparks Big Numbers for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 18 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/26/15):

NBC (23.966 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.6, #1) was the network to beat on Thanksgiving with special editions of "Football Night in America" (17.958 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 5.6, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (25.167 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 8.0, #1).

CBS (7.348 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) then claimed the silver with a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (12.833 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.4, #3) and new episodes of "Life in Pieces" (8.009 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4), "Mom" (6.724 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5), "2 Broke Girls" (5.855 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5) and "Elementary" (5.333 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7).

Next up was ABC (1.846 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #3) and its encore lineup of "The Muppets" (2.165 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), "Fresh Off the Boat" (1.582 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12), "The Middle" (1.873 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), "The Goldbergs" (1.750 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10), "Last Man Standing" (1.968 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) and "Dr. Ken" (1.739 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.073 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up its special "The All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration" (2.073 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

And finally, The CW (1.092 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night with repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" · In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.5/9, delayed by an NFL overrun; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.6/7 in metered-market households, delayed by an NFL overrun) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/6 in 18-49, delayed by an NFL overrun) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

NBC (17.280 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.6, #1) was the top draw on the evening of Thanksgiving with its special presentations of "Football Night in America" (15.026 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.8, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (17.731 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1).

FOX (5.327 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then snagged the silver with its two-hour special "FOX's Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular" (5.327 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T4).
