ABC Wins Season's Final Friday with the Top 2 Shows; Beyond the Tank is Up for the 2nd Week to a 4-Month High
ABC Friday Prime (8-11pm - 4.9 million and 1.1/5 in AD18-49): ABC won the final Friday of the 2015-16 season in Adults 18-49 by 22% over runner-up NBC with the 2-hour season finale of Grimm (1.1/5 vs. 0.9/4). ABC delivered Friday's Top 2 series in Adults 18-49 with Shark Tank and 20/20 tying for the #1 position (1.2/5). On average for the complete season, Shark Tank was once again Friday's #1 TV show in the key young adult sales demo.
Beyond the Tank (8-9pm - 3.9 million and 0.8/4 in AD18-49): At 8pm, ABC's Beyond the Tank gained viewers (+11% - 3.9 million vs. 3.5 million) and was up for the 2nd week in its new time slot among Adults 18-49 (+14% - 0.8/4 vs. 0.7/3) to earn its best numbers in 4 months - since 1/28/16, on Thursday at 8pm.
Shark Tank (9-10pm - 5.5 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): Spiking 50% at 9pm over its lead-in, ABC's season finale of Shark Tank led its slot by 33% over the second hour of NBC's 2-hour Grimm finale in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5 vs. 0.9/4). Shark Tank was up week to week in Total Viewers (+4%) and held even with Adults 18-49.
20/20 (10-11pm - 5.3 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): At 10pm, ABC's 20/20 led its hour among key Adults (AD18-49/AD25-54) and continued its run as Friday's #1 newsmagazine, dominating NBC's Dateline by double digits head to head with Total Viewers (+26% - 5.3 million vs. 4.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+33% - 1.2/5 vs 0.9/4) and Adults 25-54 (+31% - 1.7/6 vs. 1.3/4). The ABC newsmagazine delivered more overall viewers on the night than Dateline on each of the final 8 weeks of the season. 20/20 was rose by double digits week to week in Total Viewers (+18%), Adults 18-49 (+33%) and Adults 25-54 (+31%), matching its best young adult rating since mid-February - since 2/19/16.
