Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "America's Got Talent" Claim Top Spots

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (7/13/16):

NBC (9.734 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) pulled into the top spot on Wednesday with new episodes of "America's Got Talent" (11.439 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) and "The Night Shift" (6.325 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4).

ABC (5.480 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed the silver with its presentation of "The 2016 ESPY Awards" (5.480 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3).

Next up was CBS (4.023 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its trio of "Big Brother 18" (5.895 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), "Criminal Minds" (3.392 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) and "American Gothic" (2.784 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.052 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up originals from "MasterChef" (3.571 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5) and "Wayward Pines" (2.535 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

And finally, The CW (1.314 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening with its new lineup of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.463 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9), "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.229 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.101 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.6/4; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (7/15/15):

ABC (7.711 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was the network to beat on Wednesday with its presentation of "The 2015 ESPY Awards" (7.711 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1).

CBS (5.120 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) then claimed the silver with its trio of "Big Brother 17" (5.968 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "Criminal Minds" (4.830 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) and "Extant" (4.562 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #8).

Next up was NBC (4.513 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and encores of "America's Got Talent" (5.790 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) and "American Ninja Warrior" (3.875 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.665 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) served up a new "MasterChef" (4.705 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and the season finale of "Bullseye" (2.626 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (1.140 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.3, #9) and "Supernatural" (0.851 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #10) on The CW (0.995 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.2 rating while the latter posted a 0.1 rating.
