"Chesapeake Shores" Ends First Season as Most Successful Series in Hallmark Channel History

"CHESAPEAKE SHORES" ENDS FIRST SEASON AS MOST SUCCESSFUL SERIES IN HALLMARK CHANNEL HISTORY

Finale Boosts Hallmark Channel to #1 Non-News Cable Network in Time Period

New York, October 14 - The first season of Hallmark Channel's original, primetime scripted series "Chesapeake Shores" came to a successful close against the Presidential Debates this past weekend, driving the network to be the #1 non-news cable network among HH and Total Viewers in L+3 ratings and delivery in the 9-10 p.m. time period. For the season, "Chesapeake Shores" also officially became Hallmark Channel's most-watched series in the network's history among W25-54 and A25-54 on a L+3 basis.

The series' viewership continued to grow throughout the season, with the Sunday, October 9, episode registering an increase of +12% among W25-54 in L+3 delivery compared to the August 14 debut.

Other Key Nielsen Highlights (L+3)

· Finale episode averaged a 2.3 HH Rating and 2.5 million Total Viewers

· For the full season, series averaged a 2.5 HH rating and 2.7 million Total Viewers

· Season one finale was Sunday's most engaging ad-supported cable drama airing a new episode on Twitter

· "Chesapeake Shores" trended on Twitter during Sunday night premieres for 9 consecutive weeks

The multi-generational family drama of "Chesapeake Shores" follows Abby O'Brien (Meghan Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother of two young daughters, who makes a trip from New York City to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Her visit home brings Abby face-to-face with her past, including her high school sweetheart Trace (Jesse Metcalfe), her uncompromising father Mick (Treat Williams), her esteemed grandmother Nell (Diane Ladd) and her siblings. Abby realizes the toll her career has taken on her ability to be a hands-on mother to her daughters, and considers a permanent move to Chesapeake Shores.
