FOR THE FIRST TIME, "THIS IS US" BEATS "EMPIRE" IN L+3 18-49 RATINGS FOR THE PRIMETIME WEEK

ROUNDING TO A 4.2 RATING IN L+3, "US" TIES ITS SERIES HIGH & TOPS "EMPIRE'S" 4.0

IN TOTAL VIEWERS, "THIS IS US" SETS A NEW SERIES HIGH IN L+3 OF 14.5 MILLION VIEWERS

The Nov. 29 "This Is Us" has moved ahead of the Nov. 30 "Empire" in "live plus three day" Nielsen ratings in adults 18-49 for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4, marking the first time "This Is Us" will prevail as the week's top broadcast drama ahead of an original "Empire" in L+3. This past week's "Us" earned a 4.2 in L+3, up from its 2.7 in "live plus same day" Nielsens," while "Empire" is at a 4.0 in L+3 versus its 2.9 in L+SD.

The Nov. 29 "This Is Us" has also set a new "live plus three day" series high in total viewers, following up on the "live plus same day" series record it established in next-day results from Nielsen Media Research.

After its 10.527 million viewers set a new L+SD high, beating the prior record (10.065 million for the Sept. 20 season premiere) by +4.6%, the Nov. 29 episode saw its L+3 result of 14.459 million achieve a new L+3 series high, topping the previous record (13.583 million for the Oct. 11 episode) by +6.4%.

The 4.2 in 18-49 for Nov. 29 telecast in L+3 ties the show's highest L+3 rating to date. In L+SD Nielsens, the 2.7 for "Us" was 0.1 shy of the series high (2.8 in L+SD on Sept. 20 and Oct. 11).

This week's gains of +1.5 rating points in 18-49 and +3.9 million viewers overall for the Nov. 29 "This Is Us" were the biggest L+3 lifts of the night on the Big 4 networks.
