Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demo Race with "This Is Us"

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/6/16):

NBC (9.579 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) took home the adults 18-49 honors on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (10.099 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) followed by the fall finales of "This Is Us" (10.926 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) and "Chicago Fire" (7.713 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3).

CBS (11.788 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was the silver draw with originals from "NCIS" (14.493 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3), "Bull" (11.572 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.300 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8).

Next up was ABC (3.815 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its comedy lineup of "The Middle" (6.047 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "American Housewife" (5.005 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.839 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10) and "The Real O'Neals" (3.048 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) plus the fall finale to "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.476 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

Meanwhile, The CW (1.982 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) offered up said fall finales to "The Flash" (3.104 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8) and "No Tomorrow" (0.861 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16).

And finally, FOX (1.624 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) closed out the evening with new episodes of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.307 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11), "New Girl" (1.770 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and "Scream Queens" (1.209 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.4/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.5/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/8/15):

NBC (10.532 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (12.935 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) alongside the fall finales of "Chicago Med" (9.602 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and "Chicago Fire" (9.061 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4).

CBS (9.099 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then claimed the silver despite repeats of "NCIS" (11.377 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.330 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6) plus its annual special "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" (6.592 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2).
