Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Hangs Onto Top Spot in Demos

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/28/17):

NBC (6.849 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) was still the network to beat on Tuesday with new episodes of "The Voice" (9.975 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), "Trial & Error" (4.559 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6), a second "Trial & Error" (3.373 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "Chicago Fire" (6.606 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3).

The silver then went to CBS (11.355 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) with originals from "NCIS" (14.043 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2), "Bull" (10.841 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.182 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #5).

Next up was FOX (3.231 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with fresh installments from "New Girl" (2.192 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8) and "The Mick" (2.350 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8) followed by the series finale of "Bones" (4.191 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.811 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) opted for repeats of "The Middle" (3.913 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10), "American Housewife" (3.071 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14), another "American Housewife" (2.955 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.584 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14) plus the finale of "People Icons" (2.171 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.5, #17).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (2.357 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (1.640 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.6, #16) closed out the night on The CW (1.998 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/29/16):

NBC (9.390 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) was the top draw on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (10.820 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) alongside the return of "Chicago Med" (8.616 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2) and "Chicago Fire" (8.736 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T2).

CBS (7.783 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then took home the silver with repeats of "NCIS" (10.324 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.763 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5) plus its special "The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special" (4.264 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

Next up was ABC (3.193 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with originals from "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.556 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "The Real O'Neals" (3.752 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T8), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.231 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T8) and "Beyond the Tank" (2.195 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #13).
