Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "Got Talent" Hold Off ABC, "CMA Fest"

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/16/17):

NBC (6.090 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) held off the competitive on Wednesday with a new "America's Got Talent" (10.710 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1), the premiere of "Marlon" (5.415 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3), a second "Marlon" (4.144 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and a repeat "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.781 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7).

ABC (5.712 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a close second with its annual "CMA Fest 2017" (5.712 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4).

Next up was CBS (4.054 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with new episodes of "Big Brother 19" (6.256 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2), "Salvation" (3.116 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #9) and another "Salvation" (2.791 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.404 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up a new "MasterChef" (3.045 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #6) alongside the season finale of "The F Word with Gordon Ramsay" (1.764 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T7).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (0.703 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and "Supernatural" (0.647 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) rounded out the night for The CW (0.675 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.9/5; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.5/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/17/16):

NBC (20.538 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1) was the king once again on Wednesday with its coverage of the "Olympic Games Rio 2016" (20.538 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1).

CBS (3.728 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was a distant silver with its mix of "Big Brother 18" (5.851 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2), "Criminal Minds" (2.964 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and "American Gothic" (2.370 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11).

Next up was FOX (1.941 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with a repeat "MasterChef" (1.941 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.004 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up a marathon of "The Real O'Neals" (2.470 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), another "The Real O'Neals" (1.983 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), even more "The Real O'Neals" (1.888 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), yet another "The Real O'Neals" (1.741 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7), "Modern Family" (2.006 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and "Black-ish" (1.938 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3).
