Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: NFL on NBC, FOX Overshadow Emmys on CBS

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/17/17):

NBC (15.533 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.3, #1) was the network to beat on Sunday with its mainstays "Football Night in America #1" (5.279 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.6, #8), "Football Night in America #2" (6.658 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T5), "Football Night in America #3" (9.770 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.1, #4) and "Sunday Night Football" (18.460 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 6.4, #2).

The silver then went to FOX (12.574 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.3, #2) with a full 90-minutes of "NFL Overrun" (18.856 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.5, #1) followed by (half-hour results only) "NFL Overrun/The Orville" (10.243 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.5, #3), "The Orville" (5.036 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7) and "The Orville/Family Guy" (3.597 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #10).

Next up was CBS (9.407 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3) and its telecasts of "60 Minutes" (8.901 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9) and "The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards" (9.576 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.1, #T5).

And finally, repeats of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (4.133 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and "Celebrity Family Feud" (3.621 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12) plus originals from "Steve Harvey's Funderdome" (2.979 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12) and "$100,000 Pyramid" (2.906 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14) rounded out the night on ABC (3.409 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4).

CBS (11.941 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "NFL Overrun" (19.280 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 5.7, #2), "60 Minutes" (14.243 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.4, #5), "The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey" (10.730 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.2, #7), a second "The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey" (9.846 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #9) and a repeat "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.609 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11).

Next up was ABC (8.850 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) and its presentation of "Countdown to the Emmy Awards: Red Carpet Live" (6.344 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #10) and "The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards" (9.686 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.5, #6).
