Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Holds Onto Top Spot with Dramas

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/6/18):

CBS (7.769 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) was the network to beat on Friday with new episodes of "MacGyver" (6.709 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (7.902 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (8.696 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

Second place then went to NBC (4.133 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with a special earlier "Taken" (3.032 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.684 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5).

Sharing the silver was FOX (2.610 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.524 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) plus a repeat "The Resident" (1.696 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.219 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) served up fresh installments of "Once Upon a Time" (2.246 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.044 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6) and "20/20" (2.369 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6).

And finally, originals from "Dynasty" (0.739 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.560 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (0.649 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore delayed by a Masters golf report; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore delayed by a Masters golf report. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.1/1 with an encore delayed by a Masters golf report.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

ABC (4.338 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was a close second with the launch of "The Toy Box" (4.080 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) followed by new episodes of "Shark Tank" (4.764 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) and "20/20" (4.170 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5).

Next up was NBC (3.946 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and the debut of "First Dates" (3.770 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) alongside a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.035 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.009 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up a new "Rosewood" (2.395 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #9) and the premiere of "You the Jury" (1.623 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10).

And finally, fresh installments of "The Originals" (1.117 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10) and "Reign" (0.734 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) rounded out the night on The CW (0.925 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
