Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Got Talent," "World of Dance" Team for NBC Victory

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/22/18):

NBC (6.574 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) scored the top spot on Wednesday with fresh installments from "America's Got Talent" (9.526 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) and "World of Dance" (5.098 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3).

FOX (3.280 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then snagged the silver with its expanded two-hour "MasterChef" (3.280 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4).

Next up was CBS (3.822 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with a new "Big Brother 20" (5.659 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) alongside repeats of "SEAL Team" (2.899 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6) and "Criminal Minds" (2.910 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.464 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up second runs of "The Goldbergs" (2.608 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6) and "American Housewife" (2.180 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T6) plus "The Story of the Royals, Part 1" (4.000 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5).

And finally, a new "Burden of Truth" (0.860 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #10) and a repeat "Supergirl" (0.630 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.1, #11) rounded out the night over on The CW (0.745 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.1, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (8/23/17):

NBC (6.002 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was the top draw on Wednesday thanks to a new "America's Got Talent" (10.527 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) followed by "Marlon" (4.972 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3), a second "Marlon" (3.819 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4) and a repeat "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.083 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #6).

FOX (3.436 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then claimed the silver with its expanded two-hour "MasterChef" (3.436 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T4).
