Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Continues Its Reign with "Got Talent"

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/12/18):

NBC (7.062 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) held onto the top spot on Wednesday with a new "America's Got Talent" (9.934 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) followed by the season finale of "World of Dance" (5.627 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3).

FOX (3.655 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then was the silver draw with a two-hour "MasterChef" (3.655 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3).

Next up was CBS (3.811 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with a new "Big Brother 20" (5.570 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) alongside repeats of "SEAL Team" (2.924 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T8) and "Criminal Minds" (2.938 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.514 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up repeats of "The Goldbergs" (3.458 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5), "American Housewife" (2.889 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5), "Modern Family" (2.794 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5) and "Splitting Up Together" (2.228 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T8) plus a special "Castaways" (1.857 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T10).

And finally, a new "Burden of Truth" (0.779 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) and a repeat "Supergirl" (0.586 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.1, #13) on The CW (0.682 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.9/5; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/4; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (9/13/17):

NBC (6.152 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the top draw on Wednesday with its mix of "America's Got Talent" (11.307 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "Marlon" (5.193 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4), the season finale of "Marlon" (3.689 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and a special "Midnight, Texas" (2.709 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Sharing the demo crown however was FOX (4.028 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) with the penultimate week of "MasterChef" (4.028 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3).

Next up was CBS (4.372 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with originals from "Big Brother 19" (6.307 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Salvation" (3.558 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12) plus a repeat "Criminal Minds" (3.253 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T12).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.904 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up repeats of "The Goldbergs" (2.993 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Speechless" (2.282 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9), "Modern Family" (3.020 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #6) and "American Housewife" (2.694 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9) as well as the special "20/20: The Good Doctors: Brilliance & Bravery" (3.220 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

And finally, repeats of "Arrow" (0.823 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) and "Supernatural" (0.760 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) on The CW (0.791 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night.
