Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "This Is Us" Top Demo Race

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/2/18):

NBC (8.475 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) held onto the demo crown on Tuesday thanks to new episodes of "The Voice" (9.187 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2), "This Is Us" (8.770 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) and "New Amsterdam" (7.468 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3).

CBS (9.712 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with its trio of "NCIS" (11.926 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4), "FBI" (9.369 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (7.840 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6).

Next up was FOX (2.714 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with its duo of "The Gifted" (2.265 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9) and "Lethal Weapon" (3.164 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Meanwhile, ABC (5.008 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up another special "Dancing with the Stars" (6.100 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and a repeat "A Million Little Things" (2.824 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (0.547 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T11) and the season finale of "The Outpost" (0.587 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T11) rounded out the night on The CW (0.567 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.1, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/3/17):

NBC (8.733 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was the network to beat among adults 18-49 on Tuesday with new episodes from "The Voice" (10.222 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2), "This Is Us" (10.916 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.1, #1) and "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders" (5.062 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

Second place then went to ABC (4.611 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) with its debut lineup of "The Middle" (6.055 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.473 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6), "Black-ish" (4.694 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4), "The Mayor" (4.055 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) and "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" (4.196 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11).

Next up was CBS (11.034 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with its trio of "NCIS" (13.204 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5), "Bull" (10.719 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.180 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.108 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) served up originals from "Lethal Weapon" (4.017 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10), "The Mick" (2.532 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13) and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.868 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14).

And finally, The CW (0.596 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night with a repeat "The Flash" (0.787 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #15) plus the special "Machinima's Chasing the Cup: Injustice 2" (0.406 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.1, #16).
