L+3 Premiere Week: ABC Opens the Week with the Top 2 Broadcast Gainers, with HTGAWM and Good Doctor

ABC's Live + 3 Day data for Premiere Week 2018-19 (9/24-9/30/18):

Please note: ABC's regular Tuesday, Friday and Sunday line-ups have yet to premiere.

During Premiere Week of the 2018-19 season, ABC claimed the Top 2 broadcast gainers in delayed viewing among Adults 18-49, with the 5th season opener of How to Get Away with Murder (+100%) and the 2nd season premiere of The Good Doctor (+92%). With a +100% jump over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating, How to Get Away with Murder was the week's only broadcast program to post triple-digit growth after 3 days of TV playback. In addition, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder (+70%) and The Good Doctor (+69%) stood as the week's Top 2 broadcast gainers in Total Viewers, respectively.

With a +5.12 million viewer increase after just 3 days of playback, The Good Doctor was the week's 2nd-largest overall gainer in Total Viewers, behind NBC's Manifest debut. This year's gains in delayed viewing (+92% and +69%, respectively) outdelivered last year's debut (+68% and +49%, respectively) to stand as the show's 2nd-biggest-ever L+3 lift among Adults 18-49 and biggest-ever in Total Viewers.

The debut of ABC's A Million Little Things was Wednesday's #1 playback gainer on the broadcast networks in both Total Viewers (+55%) and Adults 18-49 (+64%). The new ABC drama also tied the Modern Family premiere as the night's #1 absolute gainer on broadcast in Adults 18-49 with a +0.7 ratings point lift from L+SD to L+3, topping the increases of Fox's Empire opener (+0.6 rating points) and all three NBC drama premieres (+0.5 rating points to +0.6 rating points). A Million Little Things opened as Wednesday's 2nd-biggest overall gainer in Total Viewers with a +2.79 million lift, behind NBC's Chicago P.D. premiere.

· After trailing by 1-tenth of a rating point in L+SD, A Million Little Things moved into a tie with Chicago P.D. in the 10pm hour among Adults 18-49 in L+3 (1.8/8).

The 2-hour 15th season opener of ABC's Grey's Anatomy was Thursday's #1 absolute gainer in Adults 18-49 with a +1.1 rating point jump from L+SD to L+3 (tied with CBS' The Big Bang Theory).

· After holding even with its season 14 finale among Adults 18-49 in L+SD, Grey's ended up growing by 3% (3.0/13 vs. 2.9/14) to equal its highest L+3 rating since early March - since 3/1/18.

HTGAWM scored series-high L+3 lifts with increases of +100% in Adults 18-49 (tie) and +70% in Total Viewers over its L+SD numbers.
