Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Tops Adults 18-49 with NBA Playoffs

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/19/19):

ABC (2.652 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #1) claimed the adults 18-49 crown on Friday thanks to its primetime coverage of "NBA Countdown" (2.234 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) and the "NBA Playoffs: Boston at Indiana" (2.736 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2).

CBS (4.571 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) then was the most-watched network with its mix of "I Love Lucy Funny Money Special" (4.442 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #6), "Hawaii Five-0" (3.990 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) and "Blue Bloods" (5.279 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7).

Next up was NBC (3.703 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) with originals from "Blindspot" (3.050 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "The Blacklist" (4.005 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and "Dateline NBC" (4.054 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.054 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) served up new episodes of "Last Man Standing" (4.731 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1), "The Cool Kids" (3.518 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T4) and "Proven Innocent" (1.984 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7).

And finally, The CW (1.036 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night with the return of "Dynasty" (1.064 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) plus a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.973 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and a second "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.045 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/2; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 with an encore in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/20/18):

FOX (3.117 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #1) pulled into the top demo spot on Friday thanks to a new "MasterChef Junior" (2.978 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) and a second hour of "MasterChef Junior" (3.256 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

CBS (6.284 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was a close second with its mix of "MacGyver" (6.309 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (7.368 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) and the special "Meghan Markle: American Princess" (5.177 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #6).

Next up was NBC (3.584 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) with the return of "Blindspot" (2.846 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #7) and another two-hour "Dateline NBC" (3.954 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.047 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) served up its trio of "Once Upon a Time" (2.164 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (1.659 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8) and "20/20" (2.318 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T8).

And finally, a new "Dynasty" (0.670 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and the season finale of "Jane the Virgin" (0.641 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (0.655 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.
