Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Big Brother" Tops Charts for CBS

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (7/3/19):

CBS (3.182 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T1) was the top draw on Wednesday thanks to a new "Big Brother 21" (4.235 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) alongside the penultimate "NCIS: The Cases They Can't Forget" (2.660 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8) and the season finale of "NCIS: The Cases They Can't Forget" (2.650 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

ABC (2.761 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T1) then shared in the demo honors with encores of "Press Your Luck" (3.149 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2), "Card Sharks" (2.537 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) and "Match Game" (2.597 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4).

Next up was NBC (2.234 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) with repeats of "Ellen's Game of Games" (2.758 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) and "Songland" (1.685 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) plus a new "The InBetween" (2.258 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.540 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) opted for repeats of "MasterChef" (1.630 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) and "First Responders Live" (1.449 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

And finally, The CW (0.536 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.1, #5) closed out the night with repeats of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (0.744 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.327 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.1, #13).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.3/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.7/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/1 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.1/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.4/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (7/4/18):

NBC (6.603 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) claimed top honors on the holiday evening with its annual coverage of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (7.457 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) followed by an encore of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (4.895 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2).

CBS (4.162 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then took home the silver with repeats of "Young Sheldon" (3.671 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5), another "Young Sheldon" (3.595 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T5) followed by new episodes of "Big Brother 20" (3.907 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) and "Code Black" (4.948 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4).

Next up was ABC (1.846 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T3) with its repeat lineup of "The Goldbergs" (2.126 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), another "The Goldbergs" (1.677 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "Modern Family" (1.718 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7), "American Housewife" (1.572 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7) and "Shark Tank" (1.993 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T7).
